We have an existing opportunity to add two Junior Adjusters to our growing team! The role will be desktop claims handling, which may eventually lead to a field role within the Edmonton area.

The Claims Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have background/experience in insurance or insurance-related field.

Key Responsibilities

Prompt contact and follow up with policy holders and claimants.
Investigate the cause and report to clients with solid recommendations.
Identify exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements.
Throughout the claims process, you will provide high level of customer service to clients and the insured.
You will participate and share ownership and responsibility for after-hours customer service requirements when required
Perform duties assigned to him/her in compliance with established work standards, policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience:

Completion of high school education; University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance will be given preference.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
At least 1-year relevant experience in claims adjusting or related-field.
Ongoing commitment to education and learning; adjuster’s license, or currently pursuing CIP designation.
Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause-and-effect dynamics
Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.
Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.
Excellent communication skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, must be able to flex style appropriate to audience
Proactive and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict and difficult situations.

Davies teams up with Verisk on carbon tracking. For insurance brands, tracking carbon usage or offsetting can be a vital part of compliance. This new partnership aims to help streamline that process; Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology business serving insurance and highly regulated markets, has joined forces with Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, to introduce a new carbon tracking solution for insurers, designed to measure and manage the carbon impact of claims activity. The solution's model is independently assured by the Carbon Trust Assurance. The solution developed by Davies and powered by the Verisk Property Claims Carbon Calculator is now live across Davies' UK and Ireland property claims operations embedded into claims workflows, giving insurers access to detailed emissions data based on actual repair activity, supply chains and materials used. Davies has configured the capability to align with its claims processes, enabling teams to apply carbon insights directly within day-to-day decision-making. The solution also enables insurers to benchmark emissions performance across suppliers and time periods and identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions across property repair activity. Davies' McMahon receives 2026 Fred Reiss Lifetime Achievement Award. Thomas McMahon, executive vice president at Davies Captive Management Bermuda, receives the 2026 Fred Reiss Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his decades of leadership, advocacy and service to Bermuda's captive insurance industry. The award, presented annually at the Bermuda Captive Conference, is the highest individual honour bestowed by the Bermuda Captive Network. Named after captive insurance pioneer Fred Reiss, it recognises those whose vision and leadership have shaped Bermuda's standing as a global captive domicile. McMahon's career spans more than 30 years in captive insurance and risk management. Since entering the industry in 1994, he has played a role in the formation, management and evolution of captive insurance companies across a range of sectors and structures. A past president and secretary of the Bermuda Insurance Management Association (BIMA), McMahon has also served as chair of the Bermuda Captive Conference, helping guide the event through periods of significant change. His influence extends beyond Bermuda. McMahon took part in industry engagement with European regulators during the development of Solvency II, supporting efforts to ensure that captive insurance companies were recognised within evolving international regulatory frameworks. Gráinne Richmond, president of the Bermuda Captive Network, says: "Tom embodies everything this award represents." Davies inks deal to acquire Canada's largest claims processing & risk solutions business, SCM Insurance Services, in its biggest strategic M&A to date. Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology company serving insurance and highly regulated markets today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire SCM Insurance Services ("SCM"), Canada's largest claims processing and risk solutions provider. The deal will see SCM's three operating businesses; ClaimsPro, Canada's leading claims adjusting firm; IPG, its third-party claims administrator; and Pario, its forensic engineering and consulting business and post-loss appraisal, all join the Davies global platform. Following the deal, Davies will have annual revenues of c.$1.4bn, with a combined team of 9,500 colleagues operating in 22 countries across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Australasia. The deal represents Davies' largest strategic M&A addition to date and will allow the fast-growing tech-enabled firm to provide a full nationwide service across Canada, in addition to adding SCM's U.S. operations to Davies' existing U.S. footprint.
