Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Microsoft Security and Compliance Consultant. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.

Planet is looking for an experienced consultant with a background of migrating customers to the cloud including experience in: identity and authentication, Microsoft Security and Compliance tools, and a deep understanding of attack surface reduction, threat hunting, and Zero Trust.

The Senior Microsoft Security and Compliance Consultant requires a solution-forward approach to security and compliance, participation in presales activities, creating technical documentation, collaborating with project managers, and working as a subject matter expert on 2-3 projects simultaneously.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Be a primary technical resource working on projects for customers adopting Microsoft technologies
Possess a clear understanding of different security standards like ISO standards, interception regulations, control and abuse policies, monitoring and evaluation techniques, review, and report performances.
Provide comparisons of common 3rd party security and compliance solutions
Communicate technical prerequisites and deploy/migrate/refactor applications for the Cloud
Implement security and compliance tools, provide documentation, and training for the solutions
Continuously learn new Microsoft technologies, and other non-Microsoft security and compliance technologies (where applicable) and sharing this knowledge with the rest of the team
Be a lead resource for a team of engineers who work together to provide a complete solution
Comfortable contributing to level of effort estimates and project risk assessment
Ability to map solutions to requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required
Must have knowledge and experience with identity and authentication practices including: Identity and Access Security, Syncing Identities, Azure Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Azure Active Directory Connect (AADConnect)
Must be able to demonstrate specialized experience applying the principles, practices, and techniques used by information systems security personnel
Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft cloud tools and services such as Defender Suite, MCAS, Azure Sentinel, AIP, DLP, Azure Blueprints, and Office 365 Secure Score and be able to architect solutions that leverage them to meet customer goals
Must be able to architect Microsoft security solutions and articulate them to both technical and business audiences based on customer compliance requirements
Must be able to develop and refine repeatable solutions and offerings around security and compliance to be delivered by yourself and other Planet engineers
Comfortable using scripting languages such as PowerShell, TSQL and JavaScript
Awareness of current security and compliance trends and demonstration of continuous learning
Desired
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field and/or five (5)+ years of experience
One (1) current technical certification related to Azure Cloud Technologies (e.g. AZ 300, AZ 301, AZ-101, or 304)
Two (2) or more current technical certifications related to Microsoft Cloud technologies (e.g. MCSE, MS 500, MS 101, MS 100, etc.)
Past experience consulting for medium to large Government customers
Experience with the following; Microsoft Data Platform Stack, Privileged Information Management (PIM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Enterprise Apps in Azure, Defender for Identity, Azure ATA, B2B & B2C, Azure MFA, Azure Conditional Access
Comfortable working with customers and team members remotely
Self-starter and highly motivated
Strong technical writing and analysis skills
Define and manage tasks/client deliverables

Position Requirements

Candidates must be US Citizens as this work entails working with State and Local Government Agencies.
Candidates should have at least 3 or more years of experience supporting Microsoft Cloud Products and Services.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to correspond efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbal and written communications. Particular emphasis is put upon the ability to produce well written technical documentation.
Candidates must be able to work well with clients and team members.

Salaries for Consultants at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 and $210,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
