Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing strategy, sales enablement, or creative strategy; media, political, advocacy, or nonprofit backgrounds are relevant.
  • Experience creating sales or fundraising materials from scratch and demonstrating their contribution to revenue.
  • Strong writing ability across sales decks, donor appeals, and brand narratives.
  • Comfort representing an organization in client conversations.
  • Ability to set strategy and execute it independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-moving, somewhat unstructured environment and build relationships across a decentralized team.
Responsibilities
  • Build sales collateral, including decks, one-pagers, proposals, and brand narratives, for leadership to sell new partnerships and products across national and local newsrooms.
  • Participate in client pitches and help close business.
  • Partner with the revenue team on messaging across fundraising, underwriting, membership, and donor communications.
  • Own creative strategy and responses to requests for proposals, ensuring outgoing decks and proposals are sharp, consistent, and aligned with COURIER's voice.
  • Develop tailored storytelling for new initiatives, products, franchises, and events for clients, funders, members, and partners.
  • Work across local and national newsrooms to identify moments and franchises for marketing and fundraising materials.
  • Identify opportunities to connect work to other parts of the business and pitch ideas to the Chief Revenue Officer.
