This role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will develop, lead, and implement test plans and procedures as part of the Vehicle Test Engineering Team. You will develop and review test methods, operate ground support equipment (GSE), and author test documents to efficiently complete integrated system testing for multiple test campaigns. You will be coordinating and directing test crews and GSE while establishing vehicle configurations for testing throughout vehicle production as well as leading a small team of technicians during test setups, checkouts, and teardowns.
You will contribute to the successful completion of major test campaigns, including planning, writing test plans and test procedures, writing test scripts, specifying test equipment requirements, and compiling test reports.

Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans, procedures, and work orders of the vehicle’s electrical and avionics subsystems against program requirements
- Develop test methods to efficiently complete integrated system testing
- Develop/coordinate test instrumentation requirements with customers, oversee ICDs, procedures, and other engineering artifacts related to test hardware
- Write test procedures and manage procedural red lines and updates during test campaigns
- Write, execute and edit test scripts
- Participate in gated design and test readiness reviews
- Manage overall responsibility for the test, the team, and the procedure
- Maintain and operate avionics or electrical hardware and/or software
- Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations
- Troubleshoot anomalies real time and provide solutions during non-conformance scenarios
- Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks
- Connect to customers and own technical reviews and documentation for own projects
- Provide feedback to others to improve testing solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Understanding of the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning or operations
- Experience testing large, integrated systems
- Familiarity with scripting languages, preferably Python
- Experience troubleshooting hardware
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and technical requirements
- Ability to perform data analysis and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format
- Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Ability to support off shifts as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in space vehicle testing, integrated system level electrical testing and/or avionics testing
- Experience with electrical support equipment & ground systems development
- Experience developing instrumentation installation and checkout procedures
- Experience writing test software scripts or ground support equipment test software sequences
- Hands-on testing experience in thermal, vibration, shock and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-1540
- Background performing vehicle wiring installation and testing
- Capable of leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer
- Demonstrated expertise troubleshooting electrical subsystems including: avionics power, avionics communication paths, RF systems, analog signal paths, and discrete signal paths
- Demonstrated expertise in test development, processes, systems, and operational excellence
- Experience with the entire test design and implementation cycle, or at significant technical depth in multiple discipline-specific areas with minimal guidance
