Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a welder and/or welding instructor.
  • Ability to teach multiple welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux-Cored Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding.
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to welding, cutting, and shop operations.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills for working with young adults.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver welding training in accordance with Job Corps curriculum and United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service expectations.
  • Provide classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and supervised shop practice.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration-compliant welding environment.
  • Assess student skills, track progress, and prepare reports as required.
  • Prepare students for entry-level welding employment and certification testing.
  • Maintain government-furnished tools, equipment, and materials properly.
  • Support center policies, student conduct expectations, and vocational readiness goals.
