Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of relevant experience are required.
  • At least three years of classroom teaching experience are required.
  • One to two years of related experience focused on educational programs are required; this experience may be part of a university program or internship.
  • The candidate must be a certified classroom teacher in Texas.
  • The candidate must be a certified cohort leader or willing to become certified.
  • A criminal history background check is required for finalists.
  • Candidates must present acceptable original documents proving identity and authorization to work in the United States by the third day of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Support the director and manager of the LASO - Strong Foundations Planning and Implementation grants with local education agencies in Texas and beyond through technical support, professional learning, and coaching.
  • Collaborate with the project director and TIER team to support school districts with multi-tiered systems of support, including data collection and analysis, planning and presenting professional learning, and coaching and technical assistance.
  • Assist the Texas Reading Academies project director with coaching district cohort leaders.
  • Assist with monthly professional learning community meetings, site visits, and email communication.
  • Schedule, plan, and respond to emails with and for the STAR Team Project Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Research experience and presenting skills are preferred.
  • A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing is preferred.
  • Additional teacher certifications in Texas are preferred.
