Three Ten is a merchandising company based out of Los Angeles, California. The Senior Buyer is responsible for building and presenting assortment strategies to support various OSR clients, utilizing market analysis to support planned sales goals, and maintain relevance to the consumer building a highly competitive point of view for specific market needs.
What you’ll do:
- Buyer will be responsible for day-to-day items needed to achieve Sales, Margin and Turnover plans by creating, driving and ensuring execution of the merchandising strategies, weekly reporting of performance and action items needed to support business trend on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and Annual basis.
- Purchase Order data entry and tracking of on order will be a key role to ensure timely deliveries aligned to sales plan.
- Working with Head of On-Site Retail, Planning Manager, Director of Merchandising and Client services to achieve sales, margin and turn objectives.
- effectively communicating and coordinating with Client services, planner, allocator, and Product team as needed. They negotiate with vendors to develop merchandise with the best possible price/value relationship in the marketplace; establish beginning of season strategic plans for sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity (both brick & mortar and eCommerce).
- Build, create & manage merchandise assortments, by category, through existing and new vendors that align with market and consumer trends. Assortment creation includes selecting and purchasing merchandise by considering type, quality, source, timing, delivery, mix, and promotions. Managing assortments includes continual evaluation of pricing, demand, forecasting and product flow. Leverage relationships with vendors and product development team to deliver exclusive products to all channels of the business.
- Build and manage relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams. Leverage vendor relationships to gain knowledge and data as it pertains to product category. Utilize established relationship in product selection and pricing negotiations.
- Work with Head of Onsite retail to analyze economic, financial, market, competitive/noncompetitive and industry data to assess current business strategies or identify future business opportunities. Assume the customer’s perspective and ensure merchandising strategies will meet customer needs (current and future).
- Shop national and global stores, as well as other comparative retail stores, to identify new trends and opportunities, evaluate merchandise mix, evaluate competition, and translate findings into executable product plans.
Who you are:
- 4+ years’ experience in merchandising/Buying role.
- Proven creativity in identifying business opportunities and addressing issues.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop comparisons from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills with an ability to influence partners and key business decisions.
- Excellent written communication skills. Proven track record of synthesizing financial information into a concise story and communicating the story to various levels of leadership.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with natural curiosity and ability to make business decisions both within a group setting or on their own as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel.
