Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in consultative sales, business development, or client engagement for data, analytics, or artificial intelligence services.
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets of $5 million or more in a professional services or technology services environment.
  • Deep expertise in one or more insurance segments: Life and Annuities, Group Benefits, or Property and Casualty.
  • Experience selling to C-suite and vice president-level buyers, including leading executive-level conversations and workshops.
  • A strong understanding of enterprise data architectures, machine learning and artificial intelligence solution concepts, and modern cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • A strong conceptual understanding of the modern data stack and artificial intelligence ecosystem, including lakehouse architectures, data platforms, and generative artificial intelligence frameworks.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with modern data architectures and artificial intelligence ecosystems, including data lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, cloud-native data platforms, data engineering, data governance, real-time analytics frameworks, artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, predictive modeling, risk scoring, pricing optimization, natural language processing, document intelligence, claims automation, and generative artificial intelligence or large language model applications.
  • Ability to connect architecture to use case to business value and explain how data platforms enable artificial intelligence-driven transformation.
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end data and artificial intelligence lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, modeling, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
Responsibilities
  • Lead revenue growth across the Insurance Markets practice, focusing on Life and Annuities, Group Benefits, and Property and Casualty segments.
  • Drive new-logo acquisition, expand existing client relationships, and position data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities as transformative solutions.
  • Own and exceed annual revenue targets for data and artificial intelligence solutions across assigned insurance accounts and territories.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline and drive opportunities from origination and forecasting through closure.
  • Lead proposal development, solution-design workshops, and executive-level presentations for strategic pursuits.
  • Partner with delivery, pre-sales, and subject-matter-expert teams to create differentiated, return-on-investment-driven value propositions.
  • Build and sustain C-level relationships across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and operations functions.
  • Lead executive business reviews, strategic account-planning sessions, and multi-year roadmap discussions.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing client portfolio.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior insurance executives by translating business challenges into data and artificial intelligence solution strategies.
  • Drive sales within Life and Annuities, Group Benefits, and Property and Casualty segments.
  • Align data and artificial intelligence offerings with regulatory, risk, and operational requirements.
  • Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies for expanding the insurance portfolio across named accounts.
  • Own strategic account plans, including revenue targets, relationship maps, and growth pathways.
  • Monitor account health, revenue mix, margin profile, and delivery alignment.
  • Represent client perspectives internally and align them with the company’s strategic roadmap.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from sales to delivery while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Drive renewals, annuity revenue, and long-term managed-services opportunities.
  • Implement structured deal reviews, pipeline reviews, and risk-management frameworks.
  • Partner with broader strategic account executives and account managers to penetrate account-specific data and artificial intelligence organizations and expand share of wallet through innovative solutions and commercial structures.
  • Collaborate with consulting, delivery, product, alliances, and marketing teams to align go-to-market execution.
  • Work with cloud, data, and artificial intelligence alliances to co-sell and co-innovate.
  • Enable internal teams with market insights, client feedback, and competitive intelligence.
  • Influence product-roadmap and solution investments based on client-demand signals.
  • Lead sales of end-to-end data and artificial intelligence transformation programs, from data modernization and cloud platforms to artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence business solutions.
  • Position artificial intelligence-led transformation around automation, predictive insights, and decision intelligence capabilities.
  • Translate business problems into data and artificial intelligence solution architectures and return-on-investment-driven use cases grounded in insurance workflows.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales, architects, and delivery teams to shape tailored solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance trends including predictive underwriting, artificial intelligence-driven claims automation, fraud analytics, generative artificial intelligence in policy servicing, and embedded insurance solutions and proposals.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or advanced degree.
  • Prior experience in a consulting firm or leading analytics and artificial intelligence services firm.
  • Experience with generative artificial intelligence solution selling and familiarity with large-language-model applications in insurance.
  • An existing network of senior relationships at major insurance carriers or reinsurers.
  • Familiarity with the insurance regulatory environment, including the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and state-level compliance considerations.
  • Cloud data platform certifications for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals certification.
  • Azure or OpenAI/Anthropic partner certifications and DeepLearning.AI certification.

EXL announced that Vivek Jetley, president and head of Insurance, Healthcare and Life Sciences, will leave the company on 26 October 2026 to become chief executive officer of Hexaware Technologies Limited. Jetley has worked at EXL for nearly 20 years, playing a key role in building the company's analytics capability and leading its insurance and healthcare businesses. EXL chairman and chief executive officer Rohit Kapoor praised Jetley as "a great leader and trusted partner", expressing gratitude for his contributions to the company's evolution. Jetley will continue in his current role and assist with transitioning his responsibilities over the coming months. Based in Sydney, White will lead growth initiatives for EXL's data management offerings across the Asia-Pacific region, working in close partnership with the company's leadership team and global delivery operations.
