About our Culture
At Groma, we’re looking to build something big and are on a very fast growth trajectory. While a healthy work-life balance is important to our team, we want to be upfront that there may be times when we expect commitments outside of the standard 9-5. We strive to respect individuals and their needs, while also acknowledging the reality that we have a small team that is trying to accomplish some very ambitious goals in a short period of time.
We have an ever-evolving list of values and conventions that guide how we operate as a company, but here’s a high-level overview of how we think about doing what we do:
We’re committed to building an inclusive, equal opportunity, anti-discriminatory workplace that reflects the diversity of people and cultures that live, work, and play in the communities we seek to serve.
We approach our work with pragmatic idealism that enables us to focus on our desire to make the world a better place in ways big and small while also being open to intelligent compromises that accelerate us on our path to serve our broader societal goals.
Our whole team believes strongly in a value we shorthand as Justice League, not Superman. The challenges we are trying to solve require effective teams, not individual heroes. (Note: Yes… we are aware that Superman has been a member of the Justice League for quite some time now, but the analogy here is an easy, yet powerful, one for people to grasp. We don’t need a hero, we need a collaborative team of heroes who each bring something unique to the table to help solve problems that any of us individually would find daunting.)

Sure and Groma have launched an integrated insurance programme combining renters insurance, compliance verification, and tenant legal liability coverage across Groma's multifamily property portfolio. The Boston-based real estate technology firm's residents can now purchase renters insurance through their resident portal, with proof of coverage automatically verified by Sure's AI-powered Verify tool.
For units remaining out of compliance, Groma's tenant legal liability programme provides portfolio-wide protection against uninsured risk. Real-time compliance dashboards give property management teams visibility across their entire resident base.
The integrated solution was deployed in under 30 days, replacing manual proof-of-insurance tracking with automated verification. Sure is a global insurance technology provider, whilst Groma acquires and operates small multifamily apartment buildings using its AI-powered Grobot platform.
Groma selects Modern Treasury to automate its Real Estate investment infrastructure.
The partnership enables Groma to streamline investor payments, automate fund reconciliation, and scale its next-generation real estate investment products.
San Francisco, CA - [March 18, 2026] - Modern Treasury today announced that Groma, a Boston-based real estate investment company, will use Modern Treasury's payments infrastructure to power its money movement.
Groma is redefining real estate investing through GromaCoin, which offers investors tokenized shares in the Groma Real Estate Trust. Each GromaCoin is backed by productive real estate in a U.S.-regulated structure. Groma currently has 125+ properties with a total asset value above $119 million. As Groma scales, the company needed to move beyond manual processes for accepting investor contributions and paying out distributions - replacing time-consuming, manual workflows with a fully automated, reliable payment infrastructure built for growth.
"Real estate investment has traditionally been inaccessible to most investors," said Seth Priebatsch, Founder and President of Groma. "Modern Treasury gives us the infrastructure to automate our payment flows so we can focus on building products that open real estate investing to everyone."
Groma is leveraging Modern Treasury's Payments for automated money movement. By centralizing its payment operations on Modern Treasury's platform, Groma gains real-time visibility into fund flows, automated reconciliation across investment products, and the flexibility to process both large institutional and smaller retail investments through a single system - a critical capability as the company looks to expand access to non-accredited investors. Especially for products like rentvesting, Groma's soon-to-launch financial tool enabling renters to turn rent into investment, Modern Treasury's transparency and efficiency are critical.
With a single API that includes built-in compliance, accounts, payments, and ledgering, Groma can now spend less time managing payment workflows and more time growing its real estate offering.
"Groma is building the future of real estate investing, and they need financial infrastructure that can scale with them," said Matt Marcus, Co-Founder and CEO of Modern Treasury. "Our platform lets them automate the complex, manual payment workflows that come with running a REIT - from accepting investor contributions to distributing dividends at scale - so they can focus on growing their portfolio and bringing more investors into the market."
