WHAT YOU’LL DO

Own detailed mechanical design of rotary and linear actuators including but not limited to: eMachines, speed sensing and interconnect assemblies, gearboxes and housings from conceptual phase into production.
Drive development in new technologies including sensing, eMachines, and electromechanical gear systems.
Design with a heavy focus for manufacturing and assembly at production rates.
Evaluate cooling solutions for each application.
Design durability test profiles using vehicle usage data.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, including process improvement, efficiency improvement and development of data analysis techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Owned mechanical design of at least 1x actuator from clean sheet design to production.
Experience in design and analysis of geared actuation systems with rotary and linear gear reduction mechanisms.
Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD) in NX or Solidworks. Understanding of manufacturing methods (casting, machining, hobbing, grinding, additive, etc)
Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop. Working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols.
Excellent attention to detail.
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep mechanical design experience and proven track record of success for rotary and linear actuators and sensors.
Experience with torque and force sensing instrumentation and data reduction.
Working knowledge of electromagnetic and thermal analysis techniques.
Design for volume manufacturing.
Detailed assembly stackup development.
Working knowledge of material selection and supply chains.

US Salary Range

$132,000—$198,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
