Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Food service experience is a plus but is not required; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to lift, transfer, push, or pull residents, patients, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must work in conditions involving falls, burns, odors, cuts, sudden temperature changes, residents or patients with various disease processes, and potential exposure to infectious waste and bloodborne diseases, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day culinary functions to serve palatable and appetizing meals and snacks and provide residents with a quality dining experience.
  • Assist with serving meals, deliver food carts and trays to designated areas, and work in serveries.
  • Serve food according to established portion-control procedures.
  • Maintain culinary work areas and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
  • Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including cleaning workstations and counters, cleaning refrigerators and freezers, sweeping and mopping floors, washing and storing dishes, removing garbage, and keeping work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with executing special events and participate in their planning and preparation.
  • Distribute, collect, and count menus as necessary.
  • Maintain established quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices during departmental procedures.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident care information.
  • Share observations and insights about departmental operations that may improve quality and departmental efficiency.
  • Attend scheduled all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training.
  • Listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members.
  • Help residents and visitors feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Maintain current and accurate records using computers and documentation according to company and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Zachary Mills has been named executive director of Ohio Living Sarah Moore, Delaware, OH. In his new role, he will oversee campus operations, including staff engagement, resident and family communications, support for the local advisory board, and financial management. Mills brings more than 13 years of leadership experience as an administrator and executive director at senior living communities throughout Central Ohio. He is a licensed nursing home administrator and earned a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Mills' background includes experience in process improvement, quality outcomes, relationship-building, workforce stabilization, and staff retention. Kyle Ozimkiewicz advances to executive director role at The Philadelphia Protestant Home. Kyle Ozimkiewicz was named executive director of The Philadelphia Protestant Home (PPH), Philadelphia, PA. He most recently served as nursing home administrator at PPH, and succeeded Kelli Mills. Ozimkiewicz joined PPH in 2015 as a registered nurse in Pathways Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He later advanced to director of nursing before becoming nursing home administrator. He earned a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of science in nursing degree from Chamberlain University.
