Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing or a job-related field of study.
  • Three years of nursing experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Knowledge of standard software applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Depending on the location, may require a valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and lift or transport supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to travel to various worksite locations.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and direction to staff in performing duties related to public health issues and concerns.
  • Interpret and implement agency policies and program goals.
  • Provide information and education to the public health care community on health issues and immunization practices.
  • Make staff assignments, hire and orient new staff, monitor time and attendance, and conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Promote public relations with health and welfare agencies and the general public and coordinate outreach activities.
  • Share responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating agency and local public health programs.
  • Participate in programs and conferences to maintain current knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
