Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in FW design, with a specific emphasis for wireless applications.
  • Relevant project experience in Firmware/Software architecture, design and implementations with a specific emphasis for wireless applications and radio products. Proven track record of successful implementation FW code for wireless applications, preferably for ORAN radio products.
  • Experience with Embedded System Security principles and techniques, security by design and OS hardening
  • Experience with secure boot, firmware & software integrity, OTA updates, and hardware-backed device attestation technologies.
  • Experience working with security protocols, particularly in telecom environments, focusing on protocols like IEEE 802.1X, MACSec, and PKI-based authentication.
  • Solid experience in object-oriented design and development using C++, as well as full proficiency in embedded software development in C in the context of system software (bootloaders, drivers, kernel, system services, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux kernel software, Embedded Linux, RTOS, U-Boot/kernel development and customization, Linux Device Tree, File system operations
  • Familiarity with O-RAN WG11 security specifications; particularly, O-RAN Security Requirements and Controls Specification, which addresses cryptography, key management, and secure access.
  • Experience in deploying and debugging embedded systems, using lab instrumentation (e.g. oscilloscopes).
  • Ability to implement applications using modular, test oriented and scalable solutions.
  • Ability in managing resource constrained subsystems.
  • Coding skills in C++.
  • Experience with Linux kernel software, Embedded Linux, U-Boot/kernel development and customization, Linux Device Tree, File system operations.
  • Used to git and agile workflow is an asset.
  • Some familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G) and their FPGA implementation.
  • Some knowledge of RF systems and signal processing challenges in wireless communication.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize FW solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize FW code for wireless communication systems on JMA HW/FW platforms with emphasis on Embedded System Security principles and techniques, security by design and OS hardening.
  • Collaborate with the systems engineering team to understand and translate system-level requirements into efficient FW implementations.
  • Architect and implement FW designs focusing on ensuring optimal performance and resource reuse between the products.
  • Develop and execute verification framework to ensure the reliability and functionality of FW code.
  • Collaborate with hardware, FPGA and Network Security Engineering teams to integrate FW code into larger wireless systems.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of FW blocks in collaboration with Network Security Engineers.
  • Develop FW blocks for wireless communication protocols, such as LTE, 5G, ORAN fronthaul.
  • Work with FPGA and DSP teams to optimize signal processing pipelines for low-latency and high-throughput wireless applications.
  • Create detailed documentation for FW designs, and integration processes.
  • Maintain version-controlled documentation to facilitate collaboration and knowledge transfer.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in wireless field.
  • Explore and recommend new tools, methodologies, and techniques to enhance FW development processes.
