Responsibilities
  • Manage delivery personnel and assist with discrepancies and complaints.
  • Understand tractor and trailer vehicle components, including pre- and post-trip damage and en-route issues.
  • Ensure Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports are completed properly and vehicle maintenance is completed promptly.
  • Approve quotes as required for the company-owned fleet.
  • Assist with transportation activities such as dispatching, routing, and tracking using OT1 and Samsara.
  • Travel regularly to cross-dock locations throughout Texas.
  • Manage, inspect, and maintain the fleet according to Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and company standards.
  • Manage drivers' Department of Transportation compliance guidelines using the J. J. Keller site.
  • Arrange repairs and routine maintenance, including preventive maintenance and day-to-day issues.
  • Maintain and complete accurate hours-of-service, Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, and delivery paperwork records.
  • Ensure all drivers and operators have the correct and up-to-date qualifications.
  • Schedule and organize team members' daily and overtime activities.
  • Maintain fleet registration and compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Gather and compare vendor information, including pricing and response time.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for delivery discrepancies or unit breakdowns.
  • Inspect the fleet for proper Department of Transportation decals and state registrations.
  • Minimize product breakage.
  • Assess training needs and facilitate ongoing training to ensure driver and delivery effectiveness.
  • Handle employee issues, including job duties, scheduling, and discipline.
  • Apply transit and shipping guidelines.
  • Check routes nightly to optimize route planning.
  • Implement plans to increase output, customer efficiency, and profit.
  • Maintain readiness for Department of Transportation inspections.
