Requirements
  • Have built services in a production environment, using languages like (but not limited to) Ruby, Java, Scala, Python, Go, etc.
  • Have experience with relational or NoSQL databases in production (we use MySQL, Redis, and Cassandra)
  • Have experience with open-source distributed systems technologies (we use Kafka, Finagle, Kubernetes, and Docker)
  • Have experience working with Elasticsearch and GraphQL
Responsibilities
  • Work with a team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to help Strava users find and connect with their community.
  • Demonstrating empathy for athletes and their experience while using Strava.
  • Own your work and partner with cross-functional peers to ensure services are adequately scoped and implemented.
  • Contributing to an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
  • Be willing to explore and learn new technologies outside of your comfort zone.

Users can monitor various metrics such as speed, pace, and distance, and utilize unique features like performance comparison and Relative Effort to gain insights into their workouts. This platform also functions as a social network, allowing users to share their activities, connect with others, and discover new routes and clubs, creating a motivating community.
