Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, product analytics, or similar data-intensive roles.
  • Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and data transformation workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python for extract, transform, and load and analytics use cases.
  • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners while working with business-focused partners and platform-focused engineers.
  • Hands-on familiarity with GCP/BigQuery, Databricks/Spark, AWS, Snowflake, or other cloud data environments.
Responsibilities
  • Independently lead work streams building data foundations for core enterprise reporting datasets.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on subscription data, translating needs into technical implementations and mentoring teammates on the domain.
  • Design reusable business logic and data pipelines that enable analysts and partners to answer questions quickly.
  • Develop data models, data contracts, alerting, context, and metrics/semantic layers supporting traditional and AI-assisted analytical use cases.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of journalistic independence and commitment to the mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience working with billing, subscription, and revenue data for a digital subscription product.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with terabyte-scale user engagement data for attribution.
  • At least 1 year of experience developing on and contributing to agentic analytics workflows on a data team.
