Requirements
  • At least 10 years’ experience managing or overseeing the handling of primary and/or excess casualty claims and related coverage and tender (risk transfer) issues.
  • Superior litigation management and negotiation skills.
  • Superior writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to quickly reprioritize tasks and meet deadlines based on changing business goals and needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Directly manage an active inventory of primary and/or excess general liability claims related to policies written by Starr profit centers for accounts across the United States.
  • Perform timely coverage analysis and determination, investigation into liability and damages, and timely exposure and reserve evaluation.
  • Proactively and strategically manage the quality of claims handling, settlement negotiations, and disposition to ensure claims handling decisions are logical, practical, and purposeful, leading to cost-effective indemnity and expense outcomes.
  • Provide timely, meaningful claim information through high-quality oral and written presentations to Claims management, underwriters, reinsurers, and others to update them on losses impacting, or potentially impacting, Starr’s policies.
  • Create, cultivate, and grow relationships with profit centers.
  • Ensure professional interactions with all policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders up to the C-suite level.
  • Travel as required, varying depending on business needs.

Starr Acquires IQUW Group for $1.9B
