About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Cloud Transformation Engineer to join our Trimble Vista team. In this role, you will use your expertise to seamlessly migrate customers from on-premise solutions to the cloud. Effective communication is crucial to delivering exceptional service. We seek a highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative individual who can work effectively without needing to be in the spotlight.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead or partner with other engineers to migrate on-premise customers to the cloud.
Work with customers to understand and integrate third-party applications within our cloud deployment.
Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.
Treat automation as an opportunity for process improvement.
Coordinate with cloud engineers to build and operate systems for a rapidly growing SaaS and cloud hosting infrastructure.
Support the development lifecycle of platform design, deployment, and debugging.
Identify, resolve, and prevent system bottleneck issues.
Provide technical assistance to developers, testers, and engineers to improve operational efficiency.
Improve and automate installation and deployment scripts.
Work well in a team environment with a strong customer service ethic.
Explore new concepts, ideas, and technologies to create innovative solutions.
Pay close attention to detail.
Skills and Qualifications
Prior experience in Vista ERP
Ability to manage project tasks amidst shifting priorities.
Proven track record of supporting Windows Operating Systems in 24x7 production environments.
Expertise in Windows Server tools and administration, including AD, DNS, and IIS.
Proficient in Windows PowerShell scripting.
Familiar with system automation using custom or automated tools.
Skilled in using metrics and alerts to monitor uptime performance and usage.
Extensive hands-on experience with virtual deployments.
Knowledgeable in network administration, including VPN configuration and ODBC proxy server management.
Understanding of networking concepts such as routing, gateways, and remote connectivity.
Ability to balance change control with timely project delivery.
Skilled in troubleshooting complex scenarios and defining demarcation points.
Proficient in administering cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS and Azure using GUI or API-based methods.
Capable of configuring and deploying PaaS web and database environments.
In-depth knowledge of SQL scripting and database server configuration, backup, and maintenance.
Strong collaboration skills with global peer groups, customers, and vendors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including robust documentation abilities.
Self-motivated to learn new technologies and achieve objectives.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks autonomously.
Effective multitasking and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas.
Willingness to challenge conventional practices and engage in open communication.
Rapid learner of ERP products (Vista) and various scripting languages.
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
