Requirements
  • Residential Counselor I applicants must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
  • Residential Counselor II applicants must have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
  • QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) certification is required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification are required.
  • A physical examination must be completed before hire and maintained during employment.
  • Applicants must be at least 20 years old.
  • Tuberculosis screening and testing must be completed before hire and maintained during employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual psychotherapy to consumers for support and insight.
  • Facilitate group sessions as applicable.
  • Coordinate clinical care with case management and other internal and external services.
  • Assess consumers throughout the workday and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Encourage, support, and train consumers in activities of daily living, including hygiene, appointments, cooking, cleaning, and other household duties.
  • Help facilitate treatment and continuity of clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary system.
  • Complete intake and discharge tasks for residents entering or leaving the house.
  • Maintain household safety through cooking, cleaning, laundry, and related activities.
  • Document significant consumer interactions to support recovery and continuity of care.
  • Complete clinical documentation, including daily logs, consumer records, and medication records.
  • Respond to consumer and building emergencies and facilitate appropriate interventions, contacting residential staff, a supervisor, or clinicians when needed.
  • Advocate for acceptance and integration of individuals with mental illness in their neighborhood and community.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of well-being.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • One year of mental health experience or experience in a related field is preferred.

WellPower opens walk-in clinic for same-day opioid addiction treatment in Denver

WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
