Requirements
  • Be a full-time student during the current Spring 2026 semester and maintain good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Have high energy and comfort interacting with large numbers of parents and families.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills and a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Be able to learn detailed membership processes and explain them clearly.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and committed to working assigned Orientation dates.
  • Be comfortable using digital systems, searching databases, and entering information accurately.
  • Be available for the majority of New Student Orientation sessions from May through August, including the required training dates.
  • Be able to work daytime shifts that may require standing for extended periods.
  • Work approximately 20–30 hours per week during the summer.
  • Submit a resume or curriculum vitae, three work references with contact information including at least one supervisor reference, and a letter of interest.
  • Meet all required qualifications and perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Staff the Texas Parents Association table during all assigned Orientation sessions.
  • Welcome families and explain the purpose, benefits, and value of Texas Parents membership.
  • Assist parents with on-site membership registration and payment.
  • Distribute benefit packets and ensure families receive the correct materials.
  • Learn and accurately explain all membership levels, pricing, benefits, and deadlines.
  • Search and verify family information in the Texas Parents database.
  • Enter membership information and update records as needed.
  • Answer a wide variety of questions with confidence, positivity, and professionalism.
  • Identify and resolve basic issues such as duplicated accounts, payment errors, or missing benefits.
  • Escalate complex problems to full-time staff when necessary.
  • Maintain a calm and helpful presence during busy peak times.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior customer service, sales, or event staffing experience.
  • Knowledge of University of Texas at Austin campus life and student experience.
