Requirements
  • Associates Degree from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of clinical practice, 1 year preferred.
  • Valid certification from the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy.
  • Must have BLS CPR certification via American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Assists the rehabilitation staff by performing delegated or routine tasks related to the operation of a physical therapy department, including patient preparation, transportation and departmental maintenance.
  • Aids in the instruction and assistance of patients practicing prescribed exercises and functional activities. Transports and safeguards patients to and from treatment areas.
  • Maintains patient medical records and other paperwork in a physiotherapy department.
  • Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant.
  • Arranges treatment supplies to ensure an orderly and sufficient stock.
  • Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
