Responsibilities
Process customer orders via telephone, fax, email, and electronic data interchange.
Provide accurate pricing and research and address pricing discrepancies.
Suggest alternative products and upsell or cross-sell where appropriate.
Ensure delivered products and quantities match customer expectations.
Monitor and track placed orders, informing customers about back orders and delivery exceptions.
Use product information and performance expectations across all brand lines to answer customer questions and troubleshoot basic issues.
Educate customers about company services and policies.
Monitor the call queue and prioritize tasks to support departmental call goals.
Maintain a professional, courteous, and sincere image.
Reduce repeat customer contact through proactive service and prompt follow-up when appropriate.
Maintain and archive related paperwork according to record-retention policies.
Research customer concerns and complaints and take appropriate action within company guidelines to negotiate satisfactory resolutions; submit Catsweb forms to document actions.
Refer product injury claims and allegations to Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs immediately.
Monitor orders to prevent violations of FDA and regulatory guidelines and forward complete, accurate documentation to the Regulatory team for customers ordering regulated products.
Work with sales representatives by placing and monitoring orders, answering questions, resolving customer issues, identifying potential problems, and communicating sales leads.
Communicate with Distribution Center managers to process problematic orders and facilitate communication with customers about order amendments or shipping.
Document customer interactions to support resolution of internal or external queries about orders or items.
Inform management of relevant customer feedback and provide process and performance improvement recommendations.
Increase product knowledge to reduce the need for support from other departments.
Handle assigned special projects, including back-order reports, freight claims, returns, credits, discontinued products, the Customer Service box, and assigned customer or salesperson relationships.
Assist management with special projects and perform other duties supporting team and company goals.

Work closely with all sales representatives, placing and monitoring their orders, answering their questions, resolving customer issues on their behalf, apprising them of potential problems and/or sales leads in their territories.
Communicate with Distribution Center managers to facilitate the processing of problematic orders. Act as a communications conduit between Distribution Center managers and customers whenever there is a question about amending or shipping an order.
Document customer interaction in appropriate places to facilitate resolution of possible internal or external queries about an order or an item entered thereon.
Apprise management of relevant customer feedback including response to products; provide process and performance improvement recommendations.
Actively increase product knowledge to decrease need for support to Customer Service from other departments.
Handle appropriately any permanently assigned special projects such as back-order reports, freight claims, returns, credits, discontinued products, the Customer Service box, specially assigned CS customer or salesperson relationship or other task.
Assist management with special projects and perform other related duties and tasks as required to support team and Company goals.
