Requirements
  • BS degree in mechanical, electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems and/or test engineering for automotive, aerospace, high voltage industrial or related industries.
  • Experience with requirements software such as JAMA.
  • Working Knowledge of High Voltage systems and Power Electronics, and DC Fast Charging.
  • Proficiency with necessary test and measurement tools (Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Thermal DAQs).
  • Be a good self-starter, have a strong ability to deal with ambiguity, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.
  • Have good organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
  • Occasional domestic and international required.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux devices is a plus.
  • UL Certification Experience is a plus.
  • System level modeling with PSPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EV protocols such as CCS, J1772, DIN 701212 and ISO 15118 is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Lead integration efforts for the development of next generation Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment for both consumer and commercial products.
  • Ensures that all sub-system requirements are coordinated across the EVSE system.
  • Work cross functionally with Hardware and Software teams to drive progress.
  • Provide early testing feedback to the firmware team working on developmental and test branches.
  • Coordinate with Product Management, Construction, Embedded and Cloud software teams on overall charging solution development.
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs on detailed technical implementations of mechanical, electrical, software (embedded and cloud) and quality/reliability requirements.
  • Work with Systems Engineer on refining requirements specifications in JAMA.
  • Collaborate on system level DFMEA and collaborate with Systems lead and technical SMEs to refine.
  • Ensure design maturity through characterizations test builds on prototype hardware.
  • Participate in design and project reviews and with Asia-based suppliers, virtually and in person.
