Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, including grant budget development or grant writing and processing federal grants, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and researching funding opportunities.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of standard office software.
Responsibilities
  • Manage grant-related activities for the Department of Sociology.
  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Center for Advanced Social Science Research and the Social Science Research Hub.
  • Identify funding opportunities.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of proposals.
  • Develop grant budgets.
  • Research program and funding guidelines.
  • Fulfill reporting requirements for all grants received.
  • Manage the department website.
  • Organize events and conduct outreach.
  • Collaborate with University employees in Sociology and other offices, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, on principal accountabilities and occasional on-demand tasks.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in an academic or research environment.
  • Familiarity with the pre-award and post-award grant process.
  • A proven, verifiable track record of increasing grant portfolios in prior positions.
  • General knowledge of social sciences and how projects in this field operate.
