Requirements
  • The candidate must be licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • The candidate must have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Disorders, or an equivalent degree approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • The candidate must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer speech-language pathology evaluation and intervention for patients with communication and swallowing disorders as referred by a licensed provider.
  • Administer treatments determined by evaluation to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.
  • Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Assist in developing clinical programs for optimum patient care and service.
  • Participate in departmental operational activities, performance improvement, and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide input in formulating the budget, assist in evaluating departmental performance, and take action to remain within budget guidelines.
  • Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis.
  • Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety, and educational programs at the departmental and organizational levels.
