Requirements
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish is not required.
  • Experience designing and operating production systems, including understanding tradeoffs among latency, consistency, cost, and complexity.
  • Ability to write simple, maintainable code and develop sound abstractions.
  • Experience owning systems end-to-end from research and specification writing through design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Solid experience with TypeScript, SQL, and modern web frameworks, including Vue, Nuxt 4, Nuxt UI, PostgreSQL, ZenStack or Prisma, ElectricSQL, TanStack DB, and Capacitor.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services, continuous integration and continuous delivery, containerization, and production operations.
  • Daily use of AI coding agents and ability to orchestrate multi-file agentic workflows with tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Ability to use AI across research, specification writing, design, implementation, code review, and debugging.
  • Ability to understand customers and balance business goals and constraints in engineering decisions.
  • Ability to anticipate problems, make pragmatic compromises, and avoid over-engineering.
  • Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical teammates and write specifications others can follow.
  • Comfort working in early-stage, ambiguous, high-intensity environments with shifting priorities.
  • Experience with or demonstrated interest in building products from zero to one and prioritizing rapid iteration.
Responsibilities
  • Study customer problems deeply and translate insights into detailed functional and technical specifications, then turn those specifications into working software.
  • Design and build core backend systems for workforce scheduling, real-time coordination, and operational workflows.
  • Build well-structured application programming interfaces and data models supporting web, mobile, and internal tools.
  • Develop the worker-facing web-based mobile experience through Capacitor, focusing on simplicity for users with limited technical familiarity.
  • Contribute to the AI agent backend infrastructure that resolves coverage incidents, contacts workers, and takes autonomous actions.
  • Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and developer tooling.
  • Improve reliability, observability, and performance across the system.
  • Build integrations with accounting, payroll, and other operational business software.
  • Participate in design reviews and product decisions, providing engineering input on what to build and how to build it.
  • Immerse yourself in the operational domain by studying how service companies run their day-to-day operations and reviewing processed customer insights.
  • Understand existing specifications and begin shipping features from detailed functional and user-interface specifications.
  • Craft specifications by studying problems, collaborating with the team, designing implementations, and carrying work through to production.
  • Build and iterate on the worker-facing mobile experience for frontline workers with minimal technical experience.
  • Work hands-on with the local-first synchronization layer using ElectricSQL and TanStack DB as real usage reveals edge cases and design tradeoffs.
  • Help shape the AI agent’s capabilities for reasoning about coverage, contacting workers, and escalating to managers.
  • Improve development workflows, including testing patterns, continuous integration and continuous delivery, tooling, and the feedback loop between specifications and code.
  • Use AI coding agents throughout research, design, planning, implementation, and review.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with local-first or offline-first architectures or real-time synchronization.
  • Experience building mobile applications with Capacitor or similar web-to-native bridges.
  • Familiarity with the Vue and Nuxt ecosystem.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, workforce management, or field service operations.
  • Experience working in early-stage startups with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities.
  • Experience integrating large language models into production systems, including function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic workflows.

What believers are saying

  • In 2025, Antai co-founded six companies and launched four publicly in 2026.
  • Necta Ventures reopened fundraising in November 2025, targeting €120 million after an €80 million first close.
  • Wallapop’s January 2026 sale to Naver and Vitaance’s exit monetized two flagship assets.

What critics are saying

  • Antai depends on exits; Wallapop and Vitaance were the visible 2025 liquidity events.
  • Extension Fund II remains in formalization for €50 million, delaying dry powder through 2027.
  • A weak 2026 fundraising cycle starves the studio model and reduces founder access versus local rivals.

What makes Antai Ventures unique

  • Since 2012, Antai co-founded 25-plus companies across Spain, Southern Europe, and Latam.
  • It built Glovo, Wallapop, and Vitaance, proving repeatable company creation.
  • Its stack spans venture studio, fund of funds, media-for-equity, and venture debt.

Barcelona's Energiot raises $1.7M led by Inclimo for battery-free sensors that digitise power grids

Barcelona-based Energiot Devices has raised €1.5 million in a Series C round led by climate tech fund Inclimo, with participation from EASO Ventures, BStartup from Banco Sabadell, and Axon Partners Group. Existing investors InnoEnergy and Axel Carbon Capital also supported the round. Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from Barcelona's Institute of Microelectronics, Energiot has developed battery-free IoT sensors that harvest energy from electrical lines using piezoelectric technology. The patented system eliminates the need for battery replacement and periodic maintenance in power infrastructure. The 14-person company has executed 16 projects with 10 major European grid operators across six countries, including Iberdrola, Red Eléctrica de España, Enel and Alliander. Recent pilots have converted into contracts with Iberdrola and Lithuania's Litgrid. The funding will support team expansion, hardware industrialisation and commercial growth across Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Lithuania and the Netherlands.
