Requirements
  • A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy is required.
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential is required.
  • An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located is required.
  • The candidate must be a foreign graduate from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy before beginning the training program.
  • The candidate must obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing the required US intern hours.
  • The candidate must successfully complete the required US internship hours within 18 months.
  • The candidate must successfully complete the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) before applying to the role.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills.
  • The candidate must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • The candidate must complete required training and obtain required licensure within the applicable guidelines.
  • The candidate must be able to lift and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • The candidate must have results orientation, colleague engagement, active listening, customer and community engagement, consumer behavior, negotiation and conflict resolution, patient counseling, emotional intelligence, time management, and digital literacy skills.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a retail pharmacy environment.
  • Support patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management, excluding final prescription verification.
  • Adopt and manage patient care programs to support customer and patient health outcomes.
  • Support the pharmacy manager in motivating, inspiring, and developing pharmacy support staff by balancing assignments and addressing development opportunities.
  • Identify business opportunities and implement solutions to improve pharmacy growth and performance.
  • Greet customers courteously and professionally in the store and at the drive-through window.
  • Assist pharmacy and front-store customers with questions and concerns.
  • Answer telephone calls with a warm and friendly greeting.
  • Request additional help and collaborate with others to resolve customer issues.
  • Perform approved register transactions, including cash, check, and charge transactions, and bag merchandise after sales.
  • Maintain customer and patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, rules, regulations, CVS policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to CVS workflow standards.
  • Process prescriptions by translating SIG codes, selecting products, counting and measuring drugs, capping and uncapping vials and bottles, and labeling prescriptions.
  • Resolve third-party prescription rejections and complete manual claim forms.
  • Perform prescription pickup procedures according to CVS policies and procedures.
  • Access, input, and retrieve necessary information using the workstation.
  • Maintain inventory levels and follow inventory-management and replenishment procedures.
  • Assist with putting away drug orders, except Schedule II drugs, as permitted by law.
  • Deliver permitted healthcare services, including point-of-care testing, swab-and-send testing, immunization preparation, and immunization delivery.
  • Support the supervising pharmacist with dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring compliance.
  • Offer counseling and direct customers to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Answer appropriate medical questions and communicate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Obtain relevant medical history when applicable to support appropriate medical advice.
  • Practice and develop pharmacist duties according to law.
  • Communicate with field management and corporate teams as needed.
  • Participate in required store operational meetings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department.
  • Support scheduling activities according to business needs and the workflow model.
  • Coordinate and implement training and development for pharmacy support staff.
  • Complete all required training programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Eligibility to immunize.
  • Three to five years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Once state regulations are met, eligibility and expectation to administer immunizations as an essential pharmacist function.

CVS Omnicare completes $250M bankruptcy sale after $440M government settlement

CVS Health's Omnicare division has completed its Chapter 11 bankruptcy liquidation after selling its business operations for $250 million. A Texas bankruptcy judge approved the wind-down plan following a $440 million settlement with the Justice Department over improper billing practices. Omnicare, which served nursing homes and long-term care facilities, filed for bankruptcy in September 2025 after facing a $949 million judgement for fraudulently dispensing drugs without valid prescriptions and billing federal healthcare programmes for false claims. The settlement requires CVS to pay $130 million upfront and cover the remaining $310 million if Omnicare fails to do so by March 2028. GenieRx Holdings, a joint partnership between Milrose Capital and Integro Asset Management, purchased Omnicare's operations. The sale is expected to close next month.
