Requirements
  • An associate degree in a related field is required; a degree in Cardiovascular Sonography is preferred.
  • Four years of professional experience as an adult cardiac sonographer.
  • Direct and specialized knowledge in the area of instruction is required.
  • Four years of clinical experience.
  • Must hold ARDMS RDCS with Adult Echocardiography (AE) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • Expertise in the area of assignment demonstrating the skills needed to provide instruction.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging educational content and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Ability to build rapport with students, clinical partners, and colleagues to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Flexibility to stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices.
  • Competence in evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for effective instruction and interaction with students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in professional growth opportunities.
  • Frequently use hearing and sight, including near and far vision, and communicate with students while providing direct instruction.
  • Occasionally use fine motor skills to operate personal computers and manual or electrical equipment, including diagnostic or procedure equipment.
  • Rarely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with mechanical assistance, students, or other employees; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to provide lab instruction and demonstrate procedures.
  • Ability to communicate, think, learn, and reason; use computers and computer systems; and safely ambulate or maneuver at company locations.
  • Ability to demonstrate and use active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering, and category flexibility.
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with essential deadlines and multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to gain, understand, and apply information and data related to essential job functions.
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders.
  • Must safely ambulate on company premises and follow safety precautions, including use of personal protective equipment and site-specific safety procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Organize and deliver class objectives clearly and concisely.
  • Foster and maintain an orderly, controlled, and safe environment for students in classrooms and labs.
  • Maintain and prepare training aids, tools, and equipment in classrooms and labs.
  • Keep curriculum accurate and current with industry standards and practices.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve academic and professional success.
  • Identify and report at-risk students and create individualized success plans to mitigate attrition.
  • Foster relationships with students to help them meet program competency requirements.
  • Provide periodic and ad hoc reporting to stakeholders.
  • Meet with students and education personnel to discuss instructional programs and related issues.
  • Provide and maintain regular, substantive interaction with students in online course components.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Deliver lectures and lab sessions on assigned topics, diagnostic procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
