  • A Master's degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
  • Applicants must submit a cover letter, a current resume, and a portfolio of up to 12 professional artworks completed within the past five years demonstrating expertise in at least two of Graphic Design, Illustration, Motion Graphics, and Animation.
  • The resume must include three current professional references with their titles, email addresses, and telephone numbers.
Responsibilities
  • Teach 30 credit hours per academic year and deliver courses within the assigned discipline, in lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats, with schedules that may include day and evening classes.
  • Teach courses within the assigned discipline in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Provide student support, mentoring, and academic advising.
  • Develop curriculum and periodically review and update instructional materials.
  • Assist with program reviews and accreditation-related activities.
  • Plan and execute program-related events.
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and/or professional conferences to maintain currency in the field.
  • Attend and participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies.
  • Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
  • Attend and participate in committee, staff, informational, and professional meetings, which may occur during evenings and weekends.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of college-level teaching experience in art or graphic design.
  • Two years of experience working in the graphic design field.
  • Experience teaching graphic design foundation courses, including Typography, Graphic Design I and II, Computer Graphics, Web Design, Digital Page Design, and Illustration.
  • Experience teaching Visual Art foundation courses, including Two-Dimensional Design, Drawing I and II, Color Theory, and Painting.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite software, CSS, HTML, and creating animation.
  • Experience with online instruction and delivery methods using platforms such as Blackboard Ultra or another learning management system.
