About the company

Contoro develops teleoperation technology that lets businesses remotely control robots from anywhere. Its system blends artificial intelligence with human oversight, so robots can perform tasks autonomously while humans intervene when needed. The AI learns from human input to improve performance over time. The company serves warehousing, manufacturing, agriculture, and home/office services, offering the technology and related services for a revenue stream through sales and ongoing support. Unlike some teleoperation providers that rely solely on automation or remote control, Contoro combines autonomous robot action with continuous human guidance to handle complex labor tasks and adapt to different industries. The goal is to reduce labor shortages, boost productivity, and become a leading player in the teleoperation space by expanding AI-driven capabilities and human-in-the-loop control across multiple sectors.

KUKA automated trailer unloading enhances worker safety for distribution centers.

KUKA automated trailer unloading enhances worker safety for distribution centers. As companies turn to robotics to automate physically demanding tasks such as case unloading that can contribute to employee injuries, KUKA enables customers to meet those challenges with flexible, reliable automation. SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., August 4, 2026 - KUKA Robotics is assisting warehouses and distribution centers in creating safer working environments through automation solutions that reduce repetitive lifting, bending, and twisting. As companies turn to robotics to automate physically demanding tasks such as case unloading that can contribute to employee injuries, KUKA enables customers to meet those challenges with flexible, reliable automation. More headlines. Articles. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overexertion involving outside sources such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, and carrying continues to rank among the leading causes of workplace injuries. Repetitive case unloading from non-climate-controlled trailers is one of the warehouse operations most susceptible to these ergonomic risks. To improve worker safety, third-party logistics provider States Logistics partnered with KUKA and AI-powered robotics company Contoro Robotics to automate manual semi-trailer unloading at one of its California distribution centers. The solution combines a KUKA industrial robot with Contoro's intelligent software to perform repetitive case unloading, allowing employees to transition away from one of the facility's most physically demanding jobs. "The need for change was about protecting our employees, not just our throughput," said Javier Sevilla, Vice President of Operations at States Logistics. "Worker safety is our highest priority, and we were seeing a significant number of back strain-related health claims associated with manual case unloading. By implementing the KUKA robots through Contoro, we've created a safer work environment while allowing our employees to focus on work that is much less physically demanding." While improving employee well-being was the driving force behind the project, the automated solution also provides the consistency and reliability needed to support the company's growing logistics operations. Before making the shift to automation, roughly two to four States Logistics employees loaded and unloaded two to three truck trailers per shift. The automated system now handles four to five trailers per shift, reducing repetitive lifting while equally increasing throughput. "Automation is an essential tool for creating safer workplaces," said Nate Brazelle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Many warehouse tasks require employees to perform the same strenuous motions thousands of times throughout a shift. By automating these repetitive applications with KUKA robots, companies can significantly reduce ergonomic risks while allowing their workforce to take on more engaging and less strenuous responsibilities." The States Logistics installation reflects a growing trend across the logistics industry, where robotics are being deployed not only to improve operational performance but also to help address workforce well-being. Through collaborations with automation partners such as Contoro, KUKA delivers flexible robotic solutions that help customers improve safety, enhance productivity and build more sustainable warehouse operations. KUKA is an international automation group with sales of around EUR 3.7 billion and approximately 15,000 employees. As one of the world's leading suppliers of intelligent, resource-saving automation solutions, KUKA offers industrial robots, autonomous mobile robots (AMR) including controllers, software, and cloud-based digital services, as well as fully networked production systems for various industries - primarily for markets such as automotive with a focus on e-mobility & battery, electronics, metal & plastic, consumer goods, food, e-commerce, retail, and healthcare. The company is headquartered in Augsburg, Germany. Featured product. The iSeamer brings together proven welding performance and flexible automation solutions. Its modular system supports a wide range of components while ensuring consistent weld quality across production.

Faster Unloading. Less Downtime.

Faster Unloading. Less Downtime. Meet the robot helping G&B Fulfillment unload floor-loaded trailers faster. February 05, 2026 At G&B Fulfillment, Gbfulfillment is always looking for tools that help Gbfulfillment move faster, work safer and serve customers more efficiently. One of its latest additions is the fulfillment technology Gbfulfillment is using in the warehouse: a robot built specifically for unloading floor-loaded trailers, and it's already making an impact. Gbfulfillment has partnered with Contoro, an Austin-based robotics company that specializes in warehouse automation. Their robot is designed to tackle a common 3PL challenge: unloading non-palletized, multi-SKU containers. Instead of relying solely on manual labor, this robot takes on the heavy lifting, literally. Faster Unloading. Less Downtime. The Contoro robot can unload between 300 and 650 cases per hour, depending on the pick mode. It handles boxes up to 80 pounds when a top surface is available, and it works within standard dock clearance and warehouse space. For high-volume clients, like toy brands shipping into retail distribution centers or ecommerce warehouses, this speed translates to faster inbound processing, quicker inventory availability, and fewer delays that can impact ecommerce order fulfillment. Pay-Per-Container, No CapEx Required One reason Gbfulfillment like this system? There's no upfront investment. The model is simple: pay per container unloaded. That means Gbfulfillment can apply this fulfillment technology immediately without the long lead times or costs that typically come with warehouse automation. Takes on Tough-to-Unload Trailers Contoro's robot isn't just fast. It's built to handle the unpredictability of real-world shipments. Here are a few of the features that stood out to its team: * DuoGrasp: A patented two-sided gripper that provides stability for heavy, multi-dimensional boxes * AdaptAI + InteleOp: AI trained on actual edge-case data to increase reliability * Mobile Base: The robot navigates in and out of trailers at the push of a button * Industrial Arm: Commercial-grade hardware designed for scale and repeatability It also requires no system integration and is operational in less than a day. What This Means for You By investing in technology like Contoro's unloading robot, G&B Fulfillment can keep up with high-volume demands while maintaining accuracy and consistency. For its customers, it means faster turnarounds, safer warehouse operations and fewer disruptions during busy seasons. Gbfulfillment see this as one more way to stay ahead and bring better service to the toy and retail brands that trust Gbfulfillment to move their products. Looking for a fulfillment partner built to scale with you? Let's talk.
