About the job
- At least one year in a junior-level position and at least two years of overall experience in application security.
- Strong background in threat modeling, penetration testing, and manual secure code reviews.
- Fluency in Python for security automation, tooling, and code assessment.
- Hands-on experience securing modern cloud environments using AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to manage complex technical security projects, align dependencies, and track deliverables across multifunctional engineering teams.
- Conduct regular penetration tests and code reviews.
- Advise on the setup and maintenance of applications and infrastructure, usually hosted in AWS or Kubernetes.
- Triage and respond to monitoring events.
- Optimize and automate security auditing processes, including setting up attack infrastructure, writing Python scripts, and implementing security scanning in GitLab CI.
- Participate in incident response activities within the security operations center, including occasional 24/7 on-call coverage.
- Certifications such as Offensive Security Certified Professional or Offensive Security Wireless Professional.
- Knowledge of Laravel and PHP.
- Ability to read and understand JavaScript.
- Ability to read and understand Go.
- Experience with incident response activities.
- Experience with web application firewalls and content delivery network providers such as Cloudflare and Akamai.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Germany's financial regulator BaFin has launched a formal audit of Zalando's 2025 consolidated accounts over possible omissions related to the About You acquisition. The examination, which began on 19 June, will investigate whether information about a transaction involving a related entity was improperly excluded from the group's financial statement notes. BaFin stressed that opening the audit does not confirm any error or suggest inaccuracies are likely. The regulator is legally required to review cases where concrete indications of accounting irregularities exist and make such reviews public. Zalando called the matter "purely formal and materially immaterial", noting all relevant acquisition information was already publicly available through the takeover offer. The audit follows strong fiscal 2025 results, with revenue rising 16.8% to €12.3 billion.
