Requirements
  • A Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and a license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction required
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience practicing law in-house and/or at a law firm
  • Experience in the AdTech/MarTech industry is required
  • Experience with and a demonstrated knowledge in privacy and data protection laws and applicable self-regulatory organizations required
  • Experience in working in a global legal department and/or demonstrating strong leadership instincts.
  • Solid knowledge of technology law and contract law and demonstrated success in an IP/technology licensing and commercial contract environment
  • Knowledge of various regulatory, legal, and financial filings
  • Pragmatic and business-focused, ability to resolve issues independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing, internally to legal colleagues and business clients and externally to customers and business partners
  • Enthusiastic leader who enjoys taking ownership of projects and building relationships with individuals across a variety of functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the legal work for North America for different business units in the group.
  • Provide strategic analysis and implementation for North America while ensuring the organization’s policies and regulations are followed.
  • Drive, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, SaaS, and vendor agreements.
  • Understand and ensure company-wide compliance with privacy & data protection laws and self-regulatory organizations in the AdTech industry.
  • Conduct legal research and partner with the executive team to assess any new initiatives.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented, strategic legal advice and recommendations to cross functional teams on a broad range of commercial and regulation matters.
  • Understand complex privacy & data protection law and apply those concepts to challenging business processes.
  • Oversee different aspects of legal matters including but not limited to corporate, employment, real estate, M&A, benefits, insurance and litigation.
  • Collaborate with various teams in the organization to deeply understand the company’s products and practices and provide advice on best practices to ensure compliance with the applicable regulation.
  • Establish and maintain business processes and internal policies aimed to scale the business and support corporate governance.
  • Manage and facilitate relationships with outside counsels and work with other global team members in the global legal department.
