Requirements
  • Apply engineering principles in a professional environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain network architectures.
  • Maintain, configure, operate, and troubleshoot complex electronic computer interface systems and network equipment.
  • Maintain an active government Top Secret security clearance.
  • Hold or obtain IAT Level 2 certification, including CompTIA Security+ and an operating system or computing-environment certification.
  • Apply Department of Defense Information Assurance policies to the design and maintenance of communications solutions.
  • Work flexibly in a customer-facing role within company and customer schedule requirements.
  • Work independently and implement technical solutions autonomously.
  • Use structured problem-solving methods to define difficult problems, formulate ideas, and reach solutions.
  • Represent successful completion of work in Agile management systems such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree and have 6 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be eligible to obtain a government security clearance and comply with ARL drug testing, electronic monitoring, and physical monitoring requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and implement large-scale, complex network transport solutions across different network types and locations, including 5G wireless and low-Earth-orbit satellite networks.
  • Design and implement complex communications solutions using continuous integration and continuous delivery that can be deployed to field and remote locations to connect secure facilities and support data exchange within a cloud environment.
  • Design and implement approved networking and transport solutions supporting long-term information-system management goals.
  • Install and configure network equipment and support systems administrators.
  • Monitor computer systems to improve network performance and lead troubleshooting efforts between local and external sites.
  • Manage and maintain a library of network engineering tools for system testing and diagnosis of network-related issues locally and abroad.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement network engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines using current engineering principles and concepts.
  • Implement networking-security best practices to protect information systems.
  • Produce documentation supporting system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operator usage.
  • Contribute technical content and tutorials to product documentation.
  • Work directly with customers to plan and strategize.
  • For the higher-level position, serve as the technical architect responsible for developing and maintaining technical architecture standards, principles, and processes.
  • Establish a technical architecture discipline and lead enterprise implementation and collaboration.
  • Lead or contribute to technical architecture strategies for core infrastructure and services.
  • Lead reviews of current and future technical architecture designs for performance, availability, resiliency, and capacity supporting business- and mission-critical activities.
  • Research architectural best practices and collaborate on their establishment and implementation.
  • Analyze, design, and plan the phases of technology systems.
  • Travel to distant-end installations or break-fix actions when required.
