Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools and technology required for the position.
  • At least six years of experience in accounting operations, accounting reports, financial statements, and the design and development of automated accounting systems.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business specializing in accounting and/or finance, economics, or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, from the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
  • Direct knowledge of Federal Government Working Capital, Service and Supply, and Franchise Fund processes and procedures.
  • Experience with how a working capital fund operates within the Federal Government.
Responsibilities
  • Develop enhanced managerial accounting processes and practices and provide monthly trend analysis for the Federal Government agency.
  • Verify and validate financial information for the Treasury, the agency, operating divisions, and congressional reports.
  • Develop pro-forma accounting.
  • Develop ad hoc reports based on executive leadership requirements.
  • Document and update reconciliation procedures based on accounting standards for the agency.
  • Design reconciliation tools and job aids to enhance the reconciliation process.
  • Coach agency employees on how to perform reconciliations.
  • Analyze the financial implications of business practices related to business improvement projects at a specific project level of assessment.
  • Provide consultation, facilitation, surveys, and training related to business improvement projects.
  • Provide consultative advice, assistance, and guidance for improving overall business practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Federal accounting environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant certification or equivalent experience, such as a master's degree or graduate certificate.
  • Certified Government Financial Manager certification or equivalent experience.
