Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in OT and control systems is required for designing, implementing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial control systems, OT networks, and related automation software and hardware.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering is required, along with 15 years of full-time education.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, OT/control systems engineering, or an equivalent field is required.
  • Proficiency in programmable logic controller programming languages, including IEC 61131-3 ladder logic, structured text, and function block.
  • Demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers and programming platforms such as Siemens S7-1500/S7-1200, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider EcoStruxure, ABB, and Mitsubishi.
  • Experience with human-machine interface and supervisory control and data acquisition platforms including Wonderware/AVEVA, Siemens WinCC, FactoryTalk, Ignition, and Siemens PCS 7.
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols and networks including PROFINET/Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults across electrical and control domains.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and wiring schemas.
  • Experience with version control, Git, CI/CD for automation software, and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects and deploy and support OT system projects based on programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition, and distributed control systems.
  • Design, implement, and optimize control system architectures, including distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition, and human-machine interface systems, for business and manufacturing plant requirements.
  • Develop and maintain software for programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, supervisory control and data acquisition, historian systems, and middleware; perform code reviews and version control.
  • Commission, troubleshoot, and diagnose control system issues during startup, runtime, and maintenance phases, and provide rapid on-call support when required.
  • Implement industrial communications networks using Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, and secure OT network practices including segmentation, access control, and firewall rules.
  • Apply ISA/IEC standards including IEC 61131-3, IEC 62443, IEC 61508, and IEC 62443-4-2, and ensure functional safety alignment where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain automation project documentation including system architecture diagrams, bills of materials, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, test protocols, and change management records.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for downtime events and lead or assist corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to a cross-functional team.
Desired Qualifications
  • MBA or PGDBA.
  • Certifications for programmable logic controller/distributed control system platforms, such as ISA CPIP, CAP, Siemens S7 Programmer Certification, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PAC Programmer, ABB, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, or Cisco CCNA for OT network domains.
  • Certifications in Siemens WinCC, AVEVA Wonderware, AVEVA System Platform, Ignition Core or Gold, or other global supervisory control and data acquisition systems such as InTouch, ABB, Schneider Electric, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, and GE Cimplicity.

Accenture drops LearnVantage focus, shifts $9B to cybersecurity and mid-market expansion

Accenture is shifting its growth strategy, de-emphasising LearnVantage, a learning and training business it built and promoted heavily in 2024. The company mentioned LearnVantage only once on its June 2026 earnings call, listing it amongst AI enablers rather than highlighting it as a standalone growth driver. Meanwhile, Accenture is redirecting resources toward cybersecurity, which has grown from $700 million in fiscal 2016 to $10 billion in fiscal 2025. The company is acquiring a majority stake in an operational technology security specialist, alongside two smaller firms, combining them into a platform for critical infrastructure. These assets generate $208 million in annual recurring revenue, growing at 48%. Accenture's acquisition budget for fiscal 2026 is approximately $9 billion against $73.1 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue. The company has also launched Accenture Edge, targeting mid-market companies. The stock is down 24.3% over the past year.

Accenture acquires Dutch SAP partner McCoy to boost mid-market AI and ERP capabilities

Accenture has agreed to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation partner specialising in mid-market companies. Upon closing, McCoy will join Accenture Edge, the firm's mid-market business serving companies with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion. Founded in 2012, McCoy operates from the Netherlands with offices in Spain and the Philippines. The company employs over 380 professionals who design, implement and manage SAP solutions across ERP, data and business applications. McCoy holds SAP Gold Partner status and serves clients in high-tech, manufacturing, public sector, utilities and retail. The acquisition will strengthen Accenture Edge's position in the EMEA mid-market whilst expanding SAP modernisation capabilities in the Netherlands. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
