  • Recent college or law school graduate with 3 or more years of compliance or legal-related experience in financial services.
  • Possess a general understanding of the current regulatory environment and financial markets and/or securities regulation and rules.
  • Be proactive and willing to take on issues and responsibilities that require focus and determination.
  • Be able to work as a member of a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Be detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize.
Responsibilities
  • Interact with the Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Asset Management Public and Private Divisions to maintain the Firm's Confidential Lists.
  • Review research published by the Global Investment Research Division to ensure compliance with certain legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Liaise with Legal and other areas of Compliance to monitor and/or restrict sales, trading, and research activities pursuant to legal, regulatory, and policy considerations.
  • Apply the Research Settlement rules to facilitate communications between Equity Research and Investment Banking personnel.
  • Work with the Conflicts & Business Selection Group to facilitate approval for certain Firm and client transactions and subsequent risk-management activities.

Varmora Granito raises ₹212 Cr from anchor investors ahead of ₹708 Cr IPO

Varmora Granito raised ₹212.4 crore from anchor investors ahead of its ₹708 crore IPO, which opens for public subscription on 22 September. The tiles and bathware maker allotted 1.43 crore equity shares to 17 funds at ₹148 per share, the top end of the price band. Anchor investors included Goldman Sachs, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Bandhan Mutual Fund, and BNP Paribas Financial Markets. The IPO comprises a fresh issue of ₹320 crore and an offer for sale of ₹388 crore by investor Katsura Investments. The Rajkot-based company will use proceeds to repay borrowings and clear subsidiary dues. Shares are set to list on BSE and NSE on 29 September.

Goldman Sachs and Hisaria Group acquire stake in Lord's Mark Industries as promoter sells 10M shares

Lord's Mark Industries Limited, a diversified company operating in healthcare, diagnostics, renewable energy and LED solutions, has attracted investment from Goldman Sachs Investments Mauritius I and AT Trade Overseas following open-market transactions. Promoter Dr Sachidanand Hariram Upadhyay sold approximately 1 crore shares through open-market transactions to comply with SEBI's Minimum Public Shareholding requirements. The transactions saw participation from Goldman Sachs and the Hisaria Group-owned AT Trade Overseas. Despite the sale, the promoter group retains a substantial holding in the company. The participation of institutional investors adds visibility to Lord's Mark Industries' shareholder base as it continues to scale operations across its business verticals.

Energy trading firm Xpansiv raises fresh capital backed by Blackstone and Goldman Sachs

Granules India promoter sells 7% stake for $180M to fund growth plans

Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, promoter of Hyderabad-based Granules India, sold nearly 7% of his stake in the pharmaceutical company on Friday, raising over ₹1,500 crore. The transaction involved 1.72 crore shares sold through 22 block deals and open-market transactions at ₹872.50 per share, representing a 3% discount to the previous closing price. The deal attracted participation from nearly two dozen investors, including Capital Group, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company, ChrysCapital, and Allspring. Smallcap World Fund Ind acquired the largest chunk, purchasing 34.7 lakh shares for ₹303 crore. Granules India stated the funds will support the second tranche of its ongoing preferential issue and next phase of growth initiatives. Following the sale, promoter group shareholding declined to 31% from 38%. The deal carries a 180-day lock-in period.
