Arbor helps residential customers lower their energy bills by automatically securing the best electricity and gas rates. The service is free for users and earns a commission from its energy supply partners when it successfully switches a customer to a new plan. Arbor continuously monitors hundreds of energy rates and automatically switches users to better plans without any service interruption; users continue paying their normal utility bills but at a lower rate. It also offers Lifetime Protection, which provides ongoing rate monitoring and automatic upgrades to new low rates when current rates expire, ensuring savings over the long term. Compared with other options, Arbor costs nothing to join, runs in the background, and collects commissions from partners, making it a hands-off way to save on utilities. The goal is to help households reduce energy costs with minimal effort while ensuring ongoing access to the best available rates.

What believers are saying

  • Arbor raised a $9 million seed in August 2024, then a 2025 Series A.
  • Its 2026 site still markets seamless transfers, supporting recurring customer acquisition.
  • Savings claims grew from 10,000 households and $5 million to larger scale in 2026.

What critics are saying

  • State utility rules can block switching workflows, crushing Arbor's core conversion engine.
  • Power markets commoditize fast; comparison tools and utilities can copy rate-shopping features.
  • If supply partners tighten commissions in 2026, Arbor's free model breaks.

What makes Arbor unique

  • Arbor automates electricity switching for households, not just bill comparison.
  • Its 2026 Arbor Index exposes bill anatomy and positions Arbor as trusted advisor.
  • By June 2026, Arbor claimed 100,000 homes and businesses and $12 million saved.
