Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in on-site Construction Management
  • 5+ years' experience working directly with Executives to understand brand design direction
  • 5+ years' experience managing both internal and external project management teams preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required
  • Excellent ability to interpret, translate, and implement design direction
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in varying stages of development, design, and construction
  • Excellent price negotiation skills
  • Best-in-class comprehension of construction documents
  • Deep understanding of contract terms and related legal jargon
  • Strong budgeting and analytical skill
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Serve as an owner’s representative in all communication with development-related third parties and local municipalities
  • Work closely with acquisitions and asset management teams to understand financing structures and related obligations
  • Ensure development plans cohere with broader company strategy and brand design direction
  • Attend all municipal meetings and legal proceedings related to active development projects
  • Provide regular development updates to leadership; surface challenges quickly and propose solutions
  • Build comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction contracts, specifications, civil plans, architectural plans, and scopes of work
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to create an accurate budget and timeframe in which the project can be created
  • Coordinate plans and budgets with finance, operations, and design teams
  • Assist in the value engineering of all construction products and procedures
  • Complete projects on time, within budget, and at or above company quality standards
  • Review and approve procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources
  • Ensure all required permits, licenses, and/or certificates are obtained in a timely manner
  • Establish and enforce construction quality and safety standards
  • Track variance spend and strategize with department managers to identify and correct recurring or preventable problems
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership and other key stakeholders
