Requirements
  • Experience serving as a Catholic musician, choir director, or music director.
  • Ability to read sheet music and perform Catholic liturgical music.
  • Experience directing vocal ensembles or church choirs.
  • Proficiency on piano or keyboard.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with clergy, volunteers, and chapel staff.
  • Ability to pass a background screening.
  • Reliable transportation to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Responsibilities
  • Lead music during weekly Catholic Mass and special liturgical celebrations.
  • Direct choir rehearsals and volunteer musicians.
  • Select and prepare appropriate Catholic liturgical music.
  • Coordinate music plans with the Catholic Priest.
  • Accompany congregational singing using piano or keyboard.
  • Prepare music materials for rehearsals and services.
  • Set up and secure music equipment before and after services.
  • Support weddings, funerals, memorial services, and seasonal celebrations as scheduled.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and respectful conduct while serving the chapel community.
  • Arrange qualified substitute musicians when approved absences occur.
Desired Qualifications
  • A degree in Music or a related field.
  • Experience supporting military or Catholic parish worship programs.
  • Familiarity with the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar and Mass settings.
