Arista Networks stock falls 18% from record despite no miss; model sees ~$463 target by 2030

Arista Networks shares fell 18.34% in five sessions, from a record close of $216.74 on October 9, 2026, to $176.98 on October 16. The company reported no miss and cut no guidance. Reuters tied the selling to doubts that debt-funded AI infrastructure firms can earn enough to cover their borrowing. Arista held $13,343.3 million in cash and marketable securities and no debt as of June 30, 2026. Its exposure runs through customers, such as neocloud providers, rather than its balance sheet. The stock rebounded 3.37% to $182.95 on October 19. Its forward price-to-earnings ratio dropped to 38.05x from 43.83x on September 30. The next test is November 3, when Arista reports. The Street expects about $3.6 billion in fourth-quarter revenue.

Arista earnings on November 3: Q4 guidance above $3.6B could send the stock soaring

Arista Networks will report third-quarter earnings on November 3, and investors will watch its fourth-quarter outlook most closely. Wall Street expects fourth-quarter revenue of $3.6 billion and earnings of $1.15 per share. The AI networking company makes Ethernet switches that move data between processors in large AI data centres. Analysts expect third-quarter revenue of $3.33 billion and earnings of $1.08 per share, in line with Arista's own forecast of about $3.3 billion. In the second quarter, revenue rose 37.7% from a year earlier to $3.03 billion. Earnings per share were $0.95, up from $0.70. Nvidia and Cisco Systems also compete in AI networking, and Arista relies heavily on spending by major cloud companies.
