Bloom Energy, Micronics Japan, USA Rare Earth: growth stocks for AI security spending

Simply Wall St has named three growth stocks to watch in October 2026, as AI-related cybersecurity threats push governments and businesses to upgrade systems and data centres. Bloom Energy makes on-site fuel cell and electrolyzer systems and has a market cap of $57.15 billion. It earns about $3.83 billion from electric equipment, with roughly $3.58 billion from the US. Its outlook depends on the timing and economics of large-scale deployments. Micronics Japan, with a market cap of JPY 443.9 billion, makes semiconductor probe cards. Demand is tied to memory and AI chips, though test equipment cycles pose a risk. USA Rare Earth, valued at $3.5 billion, plans to mine and separate rare earth oxides from Round Top Mountain. Its path to cash flow hinges on access to capital.

Bloom Energy falls 11% despite record $1.24B Q3 as Jefferies cuts target to $242 over Oracle updates

Bloom Energy shares closed more than 11% lower on Friday, their steepest one-day fall in three months, even though third-quarter results and 2026 guidance beat Wall Street expectations. Jefferies cut its price target to $242 from $289 and kept a "Hold" rating. It said Bloom gave no formal backlog update or news on delays tied to its largest opportunity, with Oracle. JPMorgan cut its target to $292 from $314, and BTIG cut to $250 from $295. BTIG pointed to a near-term margin drag as Bloom expands capacity. Bloom reported record third-quarter revenue of $1.24 billion, up 138.1%. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.94, against the $0.68 expected. It raised 2026 revenue guidance to $4.4 billion-$4.6 billion.

AI data centre suppliers fall despite blowout quarters, shedding over $300B since October

Shares of AI data centre suppliers fell for a second day despite strong results. Bloom Energy said sales rose 138% last quarter and raised its full-year growth outlook to roughly 122%. Comfort Systems said its backlog nearly doubled to $17.8 billion. Since the S&P 500's October 6 record close, companies building and equipping AI data centres are down a median 23%, according to Yahoo Finance calculations. Nvidia is off 11%, while the Big Tech companies funding the build-out are down 5%. A dozen of the biggest builders and power names have lost more than $300 billion in market value. Bloom's cash flow turned negative in the quarter, and its margins lag sales growth. The next test comes Wednesday, when Microsoft, Alphabet, and Vertiv report, followed by Amazon on Thursday.
