Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience building design systems and component libraries for digital product teams.
  • Strong frontend development experience shipping production user interfaces, with comfort in code quality, testing, and maintainable architecture.
  • Ability to interpret and challenge design decisions, identify user experience issues early, and implement nuanced user interface details independently.
  • Practical experience building accessible components and interactions informed by Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Ability to identify root causes and build foundational solutions rather than repeatedly patching symptoms.
  • Ability to align stakeholders, explain tradeoffs, and advance work across Design, Product, and Development through influence and partnership.
  • Experience in regulated or high-trust product areas involving privacy, reliability, or auditability.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence tools to improve workflow speed and quality.
Responsibilities
  • Build design-system foundations including components, design tokens, patterns, documentation, and examples, and provide pairing and office-hour support.
  • Partner with squads to migrate to shared components, run enablement through documentation, examples, and office hours, and drive design-system adoption.
  • Identify user-experience drift, edge cases, and accessibility gaps; address them through components, tokens, guidelines, linting, testing, or workflows to prevent regressions.
  • Improve design-to-engineering handoffs and day-to-day pairing so designers and engineers can iterate faster with fewer misunderstandings.
  • Build contribution workflows for proposing, reviewing, merging, and releasing design-system improvements.
  • Explore responsible use of artificial intelligence to accelerate user-interface iteration while keeping changes consistent, reviewable, and safe to ship.
