About the job
- Must possess and maintain certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
- Must possess and maintain licensure in Maryland as a Licensed Behavior Analyst.
- Must achieve, possess, and maintain Professional Crisis Management certification at the Practitioner 2 level within the department-established timeline.
- Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A Master's degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Education, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of two years of previous experience with children with developmental disabilities is required.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, including collecting data through interviews, logs, and direct observation; coordinate team input; write reports; and present findings at team and Individualized Education Plan meetings.
- Develop and update Behavior Intervention Plans for students on the caseload in compliance with regulations and school procedures.
- Initiate and monitor behavioral data collection systems, summarize and graph data, analyze results, and share data with classroom teams.
- Train classroom staff to implement Behavior Intervention Plans and data collection systems, and monitor implementation fidelity.
- Monitor progress on behavioral goals and produce quarterly progress reports, annual summaries, aide justifications and fade plans, Functional Behavioral Assessment reports, and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Attend and present at Individualized Education Plan meetings.
- Coordinate and implement responses to behavioral crises as part of school-wide crisis management procedures.
- Facilitate and implement the school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports system.
- Complete required documentation of contacts with parents, transportation providers, and other agencies.
- Conduct in-service trainings as needed and, when certified, conduct Professional Crisis Management trainings.
- Provide consultation to local school system transportation staff regarding behavior management on the bus when appropriate.
- Provide direct support and guidance to Therapeutic Behavior Aide staff under supervision.
- Provide independent fieldwork supervision for individuals seeking Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification when assigned.
- Experience with individuals with autism and/or behavioral challenges.
