Responsibilities
  • Provide direct outpatient care to Hepatology patients primarily at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics.
  • Perform routine endoscopic services on Hepatology patients.
  • Provide inpatient care on a rotating basis on an advanced practice provider-run Hepatology Service.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Initiate and participate in clinical research studies.
  • Teach residents and fellows.
Desired Qualifications
  • ACGME United States Internal Medicine residency.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Transplant Hepatology is encouraged.
  • Valid unrestricted Florida medical license or eligibility to apply, with licensure required before credentialing.
  • Prerequisite procedure case logs for the prior two years for credentialing.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Maintenance of continuing medical education to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
  • Clinical knowledge and experience sufficient to provide safe, quality patient care and meet institutional standards of care.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration licensure.
