At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will provide a wide range of expertise and serve as a technical conscience for flight control and mechanical systems of the New Shepard reusable launch vehicle. You will participate in the entire design cycle including system architecture, requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing, and qualification. You will define component groups (e.g., actuators, mechanisms, valves, manifolds, piping, and sensors) including design, specification, procurement, processing, testing, and discrepancy resolution of specific components. Additionally, you will identify and implement design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost, participate in verification audits of existing components and subsystems, and participate in component and subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis. Finally, you will coach, mentor, and technically assist other specialists and team members.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
