Mondelez International

View

Mondelez International makes snack foods sold in grocery stores, convenience shops and online from North America and Europe to Latin America, Asia and Africa. Its brands include Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies, Cadbury, Milka and Toblerone chocolate, Trident gum and Halls cough drops. The company runs factories around the world, buys large amounts of cocoa and wheat, and ships finished snacks to retailers and distributors. It earns money by selling these branded snacks at wholesale, and it grows by adding local brands and buying regional bakeries and snack makers. Mondelez took its current name in 2012, when Kraft Foods split off its North American grocery business, and is based in Chicago.

Mondelēz launches gluten-free Ritz crackers.

Mondelēz launches gluten-free Ritz crackers. The snack giant has previously released gluten-free versions of Oreo and Chips Ahoy! as brands look for growth by catering to a range of dietary needs. Published Oct. 20, 2026 Mondelēz International is launching a gluten-free version of its popular Ritz cracker as the snacking giant positions more of its portfolio to a variety of dietary and lifestyle needs. Ritz Gluten Free Crackers will be available starting this month at Walmart and Albertsons before expanding to retailers nationwide in February, Mondelēz said. The 8-ounce package will sell for a suggested retail price of $4.49. "Our fans have been asking for a gluten free version for years," Olympia Portale, senior director for core crackers and head of savory portfolio strategy at Mondelēz, said in a statement. "RITZ Gluten Free Original crackers deliver the same great taste consumers love in our RITZ Original crackers and contain no artificial colors or flavors." The new Ritz cracker adds to other gluten-free versions of some of Mondelēz's popular brands, including Oreo and Chips Ahoy!, giving the snack giant a bigger presence in the growing segment. The gluten-free market is forecast to reach $14 billion by 2032, more than double the 2022 market value, amid increasing diagnoses of celiac disease and rising mainstream adoption by consumers. It's a big reason why food companies are bringing gluten-free versions of iconic brands to market. These options can tap into a consumer base that might have otherwise avoided the products. The Campbell's Company partnered in June with chickpea pasta maker Banza on a gluten-free version of its iconic condensed chicken noodle soup, while Kraft Mac & Cheese, Cheez-Its, Cheerios and Quaker oatmeal also have previously launched their own gluten-free offerings. Approximately 30% of the U.S. population actively seeks gluten-free options, and the U.S. market is projected to grow at a 9.8% compound annual growth rate from 2026 to 2033, according to Campbell's.
