  • Eight years of experience leading teams and/or functions, including internal and external or partner teams.
Responsibilities
  • Define and own the multi-year strategy for how the Value-Based Platform portfolio understands and designs for its customers.
  • Establish the priorities, principles, and standards governing customer insight and experience work across the portfolio and anchor them to business and value-based outcomes.
  • Translate customer and system-level insight obtained through user experience research into solution direction, investment priorities, and portfolio-level trade-off decisions.
  • Develop and curate a library of human insights that can be leveraged to publish and report the impact of Value-Based Platform solutions internally and externally.
  • Establish and lead the customer insight and experience function, including its operating model, governance, talent, and partner network.
  • Define how insight flows into solution requirements with traceability and accountability and build the organizational capability to sustain this at scale.
  • Guide portfolio-level decisions as a senior cross-functional partner to product, clinical, technology, informatics, analytics, and operational leadership.
  • Ensure alignment between experience goals and value-based business outcomes.
  • Direct the portfolio's research and experience design programs, setting standards for quality, rigor, and impact.
  • Ensure research and experience design work meets the standard required to inform enterprise decisions.
  • Embed human-centered and equity-driven practice as an organizational capability.
  • Advocate for designing with patients and care teams and build the internal capability and external partnerships needed to advance the discipline across the enterprise.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience setting product or portfolio strategy within healthcare delivery or care models.
  • Deep familiarity with value-based care, care management, and population health.
  • Experience building or scaling an insight, research, or experience design function.
  • Knowledge of behavioral science frameworks such as COM-B and the Health Belief Model.
  • Experience influencing product development and investment lifecycles at a leadership level.
  • A master's degree in Design Strategy, UX Research, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience establishing and scaling a function from an early stage.
  • Certification in Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience in healthcare, health technology, value-based care, or service delivery environments.
  • Experience building or leading a function and influencing portfolio-level product, investment, or operational decisions in complex, multi-stakeholder healthcare environments.

Kaiser Permanente and Risant Health report $127.7B revenue with $9.3B net income for 2025

Kaiser Permanente and Risant Health reported combined operating revenues of $127.7 billion for 2025, up from $115.8 billion in 2024. Operating income reached $1.4 billion, yielding a 1.1% operating margin, compared to $569 million and 0.5% the previous year. The organisations faced rising care delivery costs driven by high demand for complex care and expensive prescription medications. Net income totalled $9.3 billion in 2025, down from $12.9 billion in 2024, which included $6.8 billion from Risant Health's acquisitions of Geisinger and Cone Health. Combined membership stood at nearly 13.1 million as of 31 December 2025. Capital spending reached $4.8 billion, including investments in earthquake safety compliance and facility improvements. The organisations contributed $5.3 billion to community health programmes, including $192 million in grant funding.

Cone Health Joins Risant Health Network

Cone Health has been acquired by Risant Health, a nonprofit created by Kaiser Permanente in 2023. The Greensboro-based health system completed the transaction after receiving regulatory approvals. This acquisition, structured as a member substitution, makes Risant the sole owner of Cone Health. Cone Health CEO Dr. Mary Jo Cagle stated that this move will enhance their mission of providing better care at lower costs. Risant Health previously acquired Geisinger in the spring.
