Requirements
- A bachelor's-level degree in Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field is required.
- A master's degree and/or advanced training in Naval Engineering or Project Management is preferred.
- Additional management education, such as an MBA or equivalent, is valued.
- Strong knowledge of structural naval engineering and maritime systems is required.
- Proficiency with engineering software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent, is required.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations, including IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, DNV, and ABS, is required.
- Knowledge of project management methods, such as PMI, PRINCE2, or equivalent methodologies, is required.
- Knowledge of hydrodynamics, naval stability, and shipbuilding is required.
- Fluent technical English is mandatory; other languages are valued.
- Knowledge of technical risk analysis and operational safety is required.
- A minimum of 8 to 15 years of experience in Naval Engineering or related industrial sectors is required.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects is required.
- Previous experience coordinating or leading engineering teams is required.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical and strategic vision for Naval Engineering and Technical Projects.
- Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure the design, development, and validation of naval projects, including structures, systems, integration, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, including IMO, ISO, and DNV.
- Validate technical solutions and ensure their economic and operational feasibility.
- Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets.
- Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes and technological innovation.
- Maintain liaison with clients, shipyards, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide technical support for commercial proposals and tenders.
- Ensure technical risk management and project compliance.
- Represent the Engineering area in internal and external strategic meetings.
- Provide overall leadership of the Naval Engineering and Technical Projects area, reporting to General Management or the Board.
- Coordinate engineering teams, manage projects, and provide specialized technical support.
- Work across Production, Commercial, Quality, and Operations.
- Represent the organization technically with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
