Meet applicable driver qualification and safety requirements for Department of Transportation-regulated driving. Depending on the assignment, qualification may include review of driving and employment history, Department of Transportation medical certification, and a driving skills evaluation.
For commercial-driver’s-license-required work, meet applicable Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Clearinghouse review.
Receive written compliance clearance from the company’s designated compliance representative before beginning Department of Transportation-regulated driving or other covered safety-sensitive duties, and maintain required licenses, certifications, and qualifications throughout employment.
Responsibilities
Safely transport recreational vehicles and related inventory between dealerships, vendors, pickup locations, and occasional customer destinations.
Drive motorhomes and tow travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and other approved recreational vehicles.
Complete inventory transfers, pickups, and occasional customer deliveries as assigned.
Operate only vehicles and towing combinations covered by the driver’s license, qualifications, and company authorization.
Travel to pickup locations using approved air or ground transportation.
Coordinate trip details, routes, and arrival expectations with the Transport Manager.
Follow applicable traffic laws, Department of Transportation requirements, and company safety procedures.
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checks of tires, lights, mirrors, brakes, hitch connections, safety chains, and other applicable equipment.
Follow applicable hours-of-service requirements and maintain required logs and inspection records.
Monitor weather, road conditions, fatigue, and equipment condition; stop and notify the Transport Manager when an assignment cannot be completed safely.
Protect company and customer property throughout each assignment.
Provide timely updates regarding trip progress, delays, and estimated arrival times.
Maintain accurate mileage, work-time, fuel, trip, and unit-condition records.
Submit receipts and supporting documentation for approved travel expenses.
Communicate professionally with dealership staff, vendors, customers, and other contacts.
Follow company procedures for keys, documents, equipment, and vehicle security.
Submit all required work-time and trip records.

DOT Qualification and Driving Clearance
This position includes driving and transport duties that may be regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Applicants must hold the license required for their assigned vehicles and meet all applicable driver qualification and safety requirements.
Depending on the assignment, the qualification process may include review of driving and employment history, DOT medical certification, and a driving skills evaluation. For CDL-required work, applicable requirements also include DOT drug and alcohol testing and a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse review.
Required medical inquiries and examinations take place after a conditional offer. Any offer is contingent on satisfying the requirements applicable to the position.

Compensation and Schedule
Compensation follows the current approved Transport Driver payroll agreement and may include mileage or flat trip pay, hourly pay for specified duties, and approved travel expenses. The applicable compensation plan will be reviewed before hire.
Drivers must submit all required work-time and trip records. Payroll will administer any legally required wage and overtime payments.
Assignments depend on business demand. This position does not guarantee a fixed number of hours or trips.
