- Review and file pricing from project managers or procurement against estimators' Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction.
- Contact subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
- Participate in pre-bid job walks and bid-day quote tabulations.
- Supervise and direct overall project activities for basic to moderately complex assignments.
- Provide technical, field, and site administration support to field and project personnel.
- Prepare and review moderately to highly complex submittals.
- Issue construction documents and layout to field crews and answer questions.
- Prepare and interpret specifications and drawings for foremen and superintendents.
- Maintain and edit field as-built drawings.
- Complete requests for information and assist the project manager with change management.
- Coordinate the arrival of parts, equipment, construction materials, and installation with field personnel and vendors.
- Develop or assist with purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment to the client.
- Develop simple to complex scopes of work.
- Perform surveying functions and verify final locations and elevations.
- Prepare project documentation, including Project Execution Plans, conforming bid documents, status reports, meeting minutes, Operations and Maintenance manuals, warranties, spare parts, and punch lists.
- Assist design engineers and labor or subcontractors in resolving unexpected site conditions.
- Develop agendas and attend project meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and owners.
- Independently manage small or basic pieces of construction projects when assigned.
- Prepare project schedules, financial analyses, and spreadsheets for routine and non-routine project reporting.
- Collect and update engineering and construction information to reflect current plans and requirements.
- Develop detailed baseline schedules, including Work Breakdown Structures, activity logic ties and dependencies, and activity durations.
- Update project schedules with actual progress and manage the critical path with the project controls team.
- Develop Time Impact Analysis schedules for change management.
- Generate reports and data for subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and potential schedule or work problem resolution.
- Support collection of subconsultant and subcontractor schedule and cost submittals.
- Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Review the work of more junior staff.
- Develop the Quality Control Plan for review.
- Review contract specifications, quality plans, design and construction submittals, and drawings.
- Conduct or assist with field inspections of work performed and materials used.
- Verify workmanship quality, material quality and quantity, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, codes, and regulations.
- Document deficiencies and deviations from plans.
- Maintain and update quality assurance and quality control reporting for project sites.
- Work with Health and Safety professionals to identify Definable Features of Work, develop Activity Hazard Analyses, and develop portions of the Health and Safety Plan.
- Evaluate safety performance metrics of potential subcontractors and vendors during procurement.
- Help complete Daily Job Reports, including health and safety information and craft labor hours.
- Participate in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities on project sites.
- Communicate concerns and near misses to the project manager.
- Work with the project manager and virtual design and construction team to develop project capability needs and a virtual design and construction plan.
- Deploy and support construction technology and virtual design applications on project sites.
- Assist with modeling efforts and deliverables, including leading field teams through design models and schedule sequences, running model quantity take-offs, flying drones and analyzing drone data, and confirming clash detection reports.
- Facilitate solutions with design and project teams through virtual design and construction, Building Information Modeling, and traditional collaboration methods.
- Participate in preparing and analyzing Estimated Cost At Completion.
- Monitor original and current budgets by project task-code structures and analyze task-code costs and performance across project categories.
- Contribute to period-sensitive project reporting, including weekly craft labor, general conditions, and estimating labor tracking.
- Conduct advanced change-order tracking for pending change orders and support change-management needs with subcontractors and clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
